RAINBOW FOR AFRICA


RAINBOW FOR AFRICA ONLUS (R4A) is an Italian nongovernmental organization operating in a network of organizations with the aim of providing medical care in disaster response and through humanitarian assistance. It has been recently involved in the European migrants crisis in Greece and in the Mediterranean Sea. In 2016, Rainbow for Africa Onlus supported the start up of “Xenia 34° North Project” in the south of Lampedusa in collaboration with various NGOs to build up the hospital ship “Elpis” with the deployment of medical containers for the stabilization of critical patients, but the project did not become active. On January 2016 start the “Asklepios Project” an important experience in the island of Lesbos (Greece), in collaboration with two NGOs, Missionland Onlus and Waha, with the ‘Hope Clinic’. After, the medical team of Rainbow for Africa Onlus serving in the hospital of the rescue ship “Iuventa” in partnership with NGO Jugend Rettet.
