MÉDECINS DU MONDE (MdM), or Doctors of the World, is a charitable and independent aid organization based in Paris, France. Médecins du Monde, founded in 1980, provides emergency and long-term medical care to the world’s most vulnerable people. In 2016, in response to the Refugees Crisis, Médecins du Monde cooperated with SOS Méditerranée to launch the Aquarius ship: a team of doctors and nurses runs an onboard clinic and sanitation facilities, providing necessities including clean drinking water and health care to refugees rescued.
