GERMAN MARITIME SEARCH AND RESCUE ASSOCIATION

GERMAN MARITIME SEARCH AND RESCUE ASSOCIATION (Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Rettung Schiffbrüchiger – DGzRS) is responsible for Search and Rescue in German territorial waters in the North Sea and Baltic Sea and the headquarters is located in Bremen. DGzRS finance his work exclusively through donations and voluntary contributions. In 2016, the international maritime organization IMRF has actively coordinated its European members for the promotion of the ‘Aegean Project’ at the request of the Greek Coast Guard: DGzRS has sent a emergency crew and the rescue ship “Minden”, that has become an active contribution to maritime search and rescue system in collaboration with Hellenic Rescue Team (HRT) and German Life-Saving Service (DLRG).
